PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Use Pre-Kote as an undercoat for Toplac or Interlux Super yacht enamels. Excellent obliteration allows for easy colour changing.
* Range of colours to compliment topcoat
* Easy application and rub down
* Long overcoating times to allow coat-on-coat application
The tough, flexible resins are long lasting, easy to apply and rub down, giving a smooth base for the finishing coat. Suitable for all primed wood, steel, alloy or GRP.

APPLICATION AND USE
Preparation PREVIOUSLY PAINTED SURFACES:
In Good Condition: Wash down with Yacht Line Super Cleaner, rinse with fresh water and allow to dry. Abrade with 180-220 grade paper.
In Poor Condition: Remove all previous coatings and prime the substrate.
PRIMING: All preparation for bare substrates is covered on the appropriate primer datasheet.
BARE WOOD: Prime with Yacht Primer or UCP.
STEEL: Prime with Yacht Primer or Interprotect.
ALUMINIUM: Prime with Etch Primer followed by either Yacht Primer or Interprotect.
GELCOAT/COMPOSITE: No priming necessary. Wash down with Yacht Line Super Cleaner, rinse with fresh water and allow to dry. Abrade with 180-220 grade paper.
ALL SUBSTRATES: If any filling is required use the appropriate product from the Interfill range.

 

 
Method Apply 1-2 coats. If maximum overcoating time of previous coating/primer is exceeded, abrade using 220-320 grade wet or dry paper. Remove dust with a dust wipe. To give extra depth of colour, Toplac or Interlux Super enamels may be added to the undercoat.

Ventilation and Humidity Control Apply in dry, well ventilated conditions.
Airless Spray Pressure: 180 bar. Tip Size: 1365-1580.
Conventional Spray For conventional spray application, reduce viscosity using Thinners No. 10 to 20 - 24 seconds, BS4. Pressure: 3-4 bar. Tip Size: 1.4-1.8 mm.

 

 
Some Important Points Substrate temperature should be minimum 5°C/40°F and maximum 35°C/95°F. Product temperature should be minimum 5°C/40°F and maximum 35°C/95°F. Ambient temperature should be minimum 5°C/40°F and maximum 35°C/95°F. Do not use below 5°C.

 

 
Compatibility/Substrates Can be applied over all Interfill products. Only overcoat with one-pack paints. Not suitable for permanently immersed surfaces.

TRANSPORTATION,STORAGE AND SAFETY INFORMATION
Storage GENERAL INFORMATION:
Exposure to air and extremes of temperature should be avoided. For the full shelf life of Pre-Kote to be realised ensure that between use the container is firmly closed and the temperature is between 5°C/40°F and 35°C/95°F. Keep out of direct sunlight.
TRANSPORTATION:
Pre-Kote should be kept in securely closed containers during transport and storage.
 

 
 
Safety GENERAL: Read the label safety section for Health and Safety Information, also available from our Technical Help Line.
DISPOSAL: Do not discard tins or pour paint into water courses, use the facilities provided. It is best to allow paints to harden before disposal.
Remainders of Pre-Kote cannot be disposed of through the municipal waste route or dumped without permit. Disposal of remainders must be arranged for in consultation with the authorities.
