Note:If maximum overcoating times are exceeded, sand using
280-320 grade (grit) wet or dry paper. |
|
Preparation |
PREVIOUSLY VARNISHED WOOD:
In Good Condition: Clean with thinners. Sand smooth with 280-320
grade paper. Remove sanding dust with thinners.
In Poor Condition: Remove all previous coatings.
BARE WOOD: Sand smooth with 80-120 grade paper and then 280 grade
paper. Clean surface by brushing, dusting or wiping. If wiping with
solvent then allow to dry completely before applying first coat of
varnish.
Priming bare wood:: Apply Intertox or UCP. If UCP has been
omitted thin the first coat by 10-15% with Thinners No.9.
OILY WOODS e.g. Teak: Perfection Varnish is not suitable for
application on oily woods. |
|
|
|
Method |
For best results when applying by roller, smooth off with a pad or
brush. Avoid using direct from the can. |
|
|
|
Hints |
Mixing Stir individual products prior to mixing. Mix the amount
you expect to use in a separate container. Add Curing Agent to the Base,
stir and leave for 10 minutes to allow bubbles to disperse.
Thinner YTA006 Thinners No.9
Cleaner YTA006 Thinners No.9
Ventilation and Humidity Control Apply 4 coats minimum in dry,
well ventilated conditions. Best applied at ambient temperatures of
between 15°C and 20°C. Sensitive to moisture during application. Avoid
excessively humid conditions, over 80% relative humidity. Avoid applying
late in the evening as condensation can cause a loss of gloss overnight.
